Bronco Nation's Weekly Net
Apr 10th
February 25th – Not part of this week, but we’re digging deep at BNN. March Schalbach lists ten things he hates about College Football. Number 5 he wants Boise State in the Pac-Ten and number 4 he wants other BCS teams to play the likes of Boise State and Utah on their field. I do think he owes Coach Pat Hill money for trade mark use of “anyone, anywhere, anytime”.
April 7th – Coach Petersen says yes to a college football playoff. I hope the NCAA is listening. Coach is fond of the current bowl system, but if a Playoff could weave in the bowls, Coach says he could become a fan of that type of system. Coach we would be a fan as well.
April 8th - If Pete and Repeat were in a boat. It looks like Peak Broadcasting has replaced the departed Jadon Daley with former Boise State player Pete Cavender. No word on what Jeff will be doing this next year, but it would be funny if they messed with Bob during the game at least once. I already miss Jadon, but suspect Pete will offer comparable talent as color commentator. Additional commentary at FFBSU.
April 8th – Say What? Dave Southorn reports on what Coach Pete had to say about the Broncos 2009 schedule. Coach we here at Bronco Nation N.O.W. take each game at a time, but with the opener against Oregon and that it is Oregon, can you blame us if we fans are getting a bit excited?
April 8th – When it rains it pours. The Broncos took to a rain soaked Blue for their second scrimmage of the spring. Good news is the first team defense held the first team offense to 14 plays and one first down. The bad news is the first team offense had was limited to 14 plays and 1 first down.
April 9th – A picture is worth a thousand words. Buck “Paparazzi” Rogers at Statue Left has a plethora of photos from Wednesday’s scrimmage and we are all thankful for his talent.
April 9th – A star is born. BroncoNation N.O.W. and Bleacher Report Contributor, Lace Banachek, story regarding Wednesday’s scrimmage was picked up by Topix. Topix is a syndicated Top 10 online newspaper destination. I often find Bronco related stories from this source. Congrats Lace on hitting the big time and keep the stories coming.
Bronco Nation N.O.W
Mar 29th
It has a been a great year to be part of Bronco Nation. After a strange transition and establishing this site, I can say I could not have asked for more this year. During the year the site had a wide array of visitors. The biggest swell being during the week before and during the Oregon game. Not to say the site was without Bronco visitors as Bronco Nation received Bronco Nation N.O.W. with open arms.
The Bronco Nation Podcast once again grew its subscriber base. I of course could not take full credit as Buck Rogers and Drew Roberts brought that little something extra to the show. I also expanded the list of guest to include actual former Broncos and opposing school guests.
As Bronco Nation N.O.W. heads into its second year I want to let you know of some minor changes and solicit reader input. Back when I was with BroncoNation.net I found myself constantly working on site design and less on bringing more content.
With Bronco Nation N.O.W. things changed quite a bit as I put together a simple web design with a little of the hold overs. As the year progressed design wise I have made little modifications, other than some information in the side bar and a new logo. This past Sunday I one more logo change, which is a simpler design. Podcast listeners will get access to new Bronco Nation Podcast Album Art. Sometimes it is the simple things in life that you enjoy. These logos come courtesy of a Bronco Country Poster, GhostTown56.
Content wise Lace Banacheck has joined the Bronco Nation N.O.W. blog team. He has written quite a bit of articles. I hope to continue to add writers as the site grows, but alas I lack funds to pay anybody. However, I welcome anybody, who wishes to write for this site an open invitation. If you would like to join the BNN team just simply send me an email to questions@bronconationnow.com and I will get you set up.
I also added twitter to the site, allowing subscribers to be alerted when a post is made to the site. To follow BNN on twitter, simply follow us at http://twitter.com/BroncoNationNOW. In addition, many thanks to the sites’ sponsor, The Blue and Orange Store, which provided Bronco Nations fans a way to save on Bronco Gear on their website.
I am also thinking about changing up the Podcast format to shorten the show in half. One show to talk about the previous week’s game and a show to focus on the upcoming game. I am also looking into doing a weekly WAC and College Football recap show. With that said below is a poll give me a little feedback on these ideas.
Finally, I am looking into doing a weekend call-in show. A Post Post-Game show. The idea of having fans sound off the day after. I typically can’t wait to talk Bronco Football the Monday after a game and get all the feedback from everyone. So here is another poll to give me feedback, would like to have an Internet live show. A fan free for all sort of speak.
Thanks for all the views and here is to another great Bronco Football Season, I hope to continue to build on the success of the site and bring Bronco Nation more and more content. Go Broncos!!!
