Many Boise State Fans may be unable view the Southern Mississippi game
April the 16th the Hattiesburg American announced the Oct. 11th Game of Boise State vs. Southern Mississippi will be shown on the CBS College Sports Network. This brings the total number of Boise State Games on a national cable channel to 5 and 1 (yet announced) game on a regional network. That leaves 6 games at the moment for KTVB to broadcast. At this rate will Mark Johnson have any games to announce?
The news gets worse for Cableone subscribers, unless a deal is made to bring the CBS College Sports Network to Cableone, many local fans without satellite will be unable to view the television broadcast.
To those that think that KTVB can make a deal to have the game broadcast on News Channel 7 may want to recall that during the 2006 season the game against Wyoming was broadcast on the MTN network and KTVB was unable to gain the rights to broadcast the game. It wasn’t till the last minute that Cableone came through for its customers.
Talk about coming full circle, I remember the game in 2006 was the first away game that I was unable to view on Television in a long time. At that time I tuned into KBOI and listened to Paul J and Jeff Caves coverage of the game. I wonder what the response to awarding KIDO the radio broadcast rights will do for Gene Bleymeyer’s approval rating now?
For those that are unaware you can find CBS College Sports on the following satellite TV providers:
- DishNetwork Channel 152 available in the America’s Top 200 Pack for $44.99.
- DirecTV Channel 610 in the Premium Sports Pack for an additional $12.00.
