Happy Trails to David Augusto

It would appear David Augusto’s run as Sport Director of KTVB has ended.  lg-augustoBased on verified sources David Augusto will become an Artist for the State of Idaho, well that and KTVB took his mug down from its website.   We all loved to poke fun at David every chance we had during his tenure as KTVB Sports Anchor.  I think his career took a turn for the worse when he was given the task of promoting the Game Time Program rally flag, yes an 8 X 11 piece of paper, classic.

Its too bad our favorite blog, OBNUG, wasn’t around for this occasion, as I am sure a full day of stories would have been dedicated to the departure of one Mr. Augusto.  However, I would highly recommend heading to OBNUG and doing a search for David Augusto, my favorite story was David Augusto’s Poinsettia Bowl Itinerary Revealed.

All kidding aside, its too bad when anybody loses a job.  Though many despised Mr. Augusto as sports anchor, David will now have a chance to explore other career opportunity’s.  Maybe he could join the WWE as a midget wrestler or dress up in the Carl’s Junior outfit (yes that was for Kevan). Ok that was not very nice, my apology to Mr. Augusto. None the less, Happy Trails David Augusto and better best luck to you in the future.

No word on KTVB’s new lead Sports Anchor, but I am putting good money down on Justin Corr, not because I have a scoop or that I like Justin, he just has a bigger title than Zack Wolken, and I think Justin fits the build of what KTVB is looking for in a lead sports anchor.

Hope you never lose a job – because karma sucks. This is very very nasty and I hope Mr. Augusto never sees this – because it's pretty hurtful.

My intent was not to be nasty or hurtful. I for sure think it is terrible that he lost his job. I think David had to do a lot of crap on KTVB that he should never have had to do. I further think KTVB should have, like many other companies have the backbone to keep people around. I poked a little fun at future career moves. If I have offended you in any way please accept my sincere apology. I will try to better next time and I am sure Karma is always after me.

Wow…what a scoop! I didn't know that Auggie was on the outs as they say. Don't worry about the post, JT…everyone is entitled to their opinions and Augusto is only an easy target because he has (had) most of our dream jobs, but never did it particularly well.

I'm still wondering, if he was "laid off", then they replace him, he wasn't really laid off. Layoffs occur when a company is cutting back on their staff. Unless they are going to replace him with another employee, but not replace THAT employee. Or replace him with a lower paid sports anchor. Either way, for KTVB to say they laid him off seems a bit suspicious to me.

Actually the Sports Director Job was not filled, I was told Mark Johnson would oversee the Sports Department in addition to his current duties, so yes at the Moment KTVB's Sports Director Position has been eliminated. I am sure once things get back on track they will look to hire someone full time to that position. Bottom Line losing the broadcasts of Bronco Sports had to be a the motivating factor in the Layoffs

I am sure Froto will be welcome back in the Shire !!!! I always laughed at the camera angles that they had to take with him to make him look taller. Did he have to sit on phone books or did he have special broadcast chairs to keep him from looking like the little kid at the table ????
