An Oregon Win at Boise State Would Be Big

Oh how the times are changing.  It would appear many Ducks are setting their sights on a win over Boise State on the Blue. Funny just a year ago the Broncos were in the same role, looking to score a big win over the Oregon Ducks on the road.  Nick Daschel of Buster Sports claims this is the biggest opener for the Oregon Ducks since 2001 opener against Wisconsin.  He further states that this is the biggest road opener for the Ducks since 1999 against Michigan State.  Of course the Bronco’s haven’t lost a regular season home game since 2001, which was against Oregon’s fellow Pac-Ten Member, Washington State.  This game has lots of intrigue.

The stakes are enormous for both teams. If Oregon wins, it validates the Ducks as a team worthy of a top-10 ranking in 2009. If Oregon loses, it’s going to be an uphill climb to gain national respect. For Boise State, there is nothing close to the Ducks in terms of a marquee name on the 2009 schedule. If the Broncos win and look good doing it, they may get the jump on the Utah’s of the country in the race for a BCS at-large berth.

Oregon will have a new head coach, they will undoubtedly be looking for revenge and Mr. Daschel I am sure the Ducks would like deliver some hits on Kellen Moore.

Then there is the late hit by Boise State’s Ellis Powers on Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli on Sept. 20 that Duck fans can’t seem to let go.

No matter the stakes, I am sure both Bronco and Duck fans can’t wait for September to get here.

I guarantee… the Ducks will be ready, and so will my fellow Oregon fans!

That defense is coached by Coach Wilcox who is from Oregon!! Before that hit happened I remember watching the defense of BSU and they were all leading with there heads and the only reason for that stupid and sloppy way of tackling is coaching!! It's just REALLY sad to have to admit that coach is from our den!!
I don't even care anymore about what the outcome was of that game. I'm still burning on the coaching techniques from the defensive side of the ball!!! There was NO reason for that type of head hunting!! I used to always want BSU to win and I enjoyed watching there creative execution. This last year I found myself wanting them to lose and lose badly every week!! I can say this with 100% confidence and guarantee that BSU is going down and it's not going to be pretty!! I predict at least a 3 touchdown victory! I don't care about the history on the smurf turf!! You have woken the sleeping giant and were coming to play! (prediction)72-21 GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!

I'll be there decked out in D-Gear ready to put the hammer down on that smack talk'n WAC team! Boise, what'cha gonna do when Oregon comes for YOU!?! The Ducks will have a passing game to compliment their running game which will mean big points put up on the scoreboard. And if Alliotti can't manage to defend the play-action pass after a whole offseason to prepare for it, then the game will be a shoot-out intead of a blow-out for the Ducks.

Jacques, I'm a Duck, too. But stop the holier than thou crap. How many times have we seen T.J. Ward bring wood head first? Like, every game! It's football. Stop crying.

TJ Ward does not lower his helmet on hits, otherwise he would of been penalized or ejected similar to the players on BSU. We are not crying over something small, this is an absolute guaranteed way to injure football players. SOMETHING that should not be tolerated, let alone taught.

Jacques  on March 18th, 2009

cheapshot said it perfectly!! Your right though that TJ does bring the wood! Go Ducks- go back and watch some film on Ward's collisions and then watch the collisions in the Duck-BSU game and come back and talk to me! I'm not just concerned about our team but the BSU players as well! If there delivering those neck tight tackles that is just asking for major injury to all parties involved!!! The worst part is having to admit that the coach is an oregon alum!!!!!!

I must say Duck fans you are a great group. Thanks for the commentary. I wish Boise State could play Oregon each and every year. Maybe this is a start to something of a rivalry.
