Oregon State Tickets

I hear reports that the War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, WY is sold out for this week’s game, which sees Boise State heading into town.  Not to get ahead of ourselves, but he first Boise State Home Game is versus Oregon State on Saturday September 25th.

Individual game day tickets for Boise State Home games went on sale Sept 15th, and by the end of  day the OSU game is sold out.

By sold out I mean the only other way to get Oregon State game tickets will be to sign up for season tickets or via usual outlets such as StubHub, Ebay, Craigslist or TixxFixx.  New this year however, will be how one gets their hands on Student Tickets.

A change has come about regarding how Boise State students will be able to purchase tickets online via Bronco Web. Thats right, no more standing in long lines with 5o of your closest friends student ID and purchase a lot of Tickets to sell to non students.  I won’t bore you with the details as to when those tickets go on sale, but I will say that it will be an early day for college students looking to score a ticket to the OSU game.  The best part may be that actual fans that attend Boise State, have a better chance of getting tickets and filling up the student section.  Let’s hope for the best.  Go Broncos!!

Boise State Wins the Battle in the Capital

The Broncos secured a 33 to 30 win over #7 Virginia Tech and they did it without a hook & ladder, fake punt, a fake field goal nor a Statue of Liberty. Come to think of it the Broncos didn’t do too much to trick the Hokies tonight.

What the Broncos were able to due was play Bronco Football. A type of Bronco Football that most Bronco Fans see week in and week out. Before most may have arrived home from their 3-Day weekend the Broncos were up 17-0 after a miscue on the snap by Tyrod Taylor. It was followed by a blocked punt, which was followed by a pair of penalties on Virginia Tech to keep a drive alive.

Va Tech responded in the second half when Ryan Williams blasted through Jeron Johnson for a Hokie Touchdown. That score was followed by another touchdown. The half ended with the Broncos up 20-14 which included a field goal from Kyle Brotzman from the left hash.

The Second half had the Hokies taking a 21-20 lead and starting to dominate as Trod Taylor was escaping tackles and making key passes. Coupled with some costly miscues the Hokies pushed the lead further after a Bronco running into the kick penalty on a missed field goal resulted in a touchdown on the games next play.

The Broncos hit the Hokies back with 3rd and short run that turned into a 71 yard TD run for Boise State’s DJ Harper. The extra point was botched, which left the Broncos up 26-21. The Hokies came back with a great drive with another TD, but failed on the 2 point conversion.

The Broncos had a great drive that ended in a missed field goal attempt, from the left hash. That missed was followed by a Hokie TD. After exchanging a series the Broncos got the ball back with 1:41 left to play. The Broncos marched down the field after a nice punt return as Kellen Moore threaded a ball to Austin Pettis for the eventual game winning TD.

The game lived up to the months of hype. Tommy Gallarda had one the nights most acrobatic catches in the 1st quarter. Kyle Brotzman kicked the ball well all night with the exception of one missed field goal attempt.

Tyrod Taylor and company showed that the Bronco Defense was human after all. The humidity finally took its toll on the Broncos as several key players were out of the game with cramps towards the end of the game. However, when it counted the Defense rose up to the challenge.

It was impressive to see the like of Shea McClellin secured a couple of sacks on Tyrod Taylor. Ryan Williams was held to 44 yards, despite the 2 TD’s. Tyrod Taylor was as billed as he ran for 74 yards and threw for 186 yard.

However, the show belonged to the Bronco Offense. DJ Harper’s run and Doug Martin’s smash mouth approached led to 168 yards on the ground for the Broncos. The Offensive line opened up holes while Dan Paul sealed up the sides on several long gains by the Broncos.

Titus Young and Austin Pettis showed they were as good as any receiving duo in the country. Austin was grabbing balls out of the air that should not have been caught and Titus was as open as anyone could be on several key catches.

In the end Kellen Moore proved this blogger right by being the difference in the game. Kellen had ice in his veins as he led the Broncos down the field on the games final score. It may not have been Kellen’s best game, but it was what Kellen does. Congrats to the Broncos and have a safe trip home. GO Broncos!!!
