So what can the National Media and the Oklahoma Sooners gain from the Boise States 2005 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs?

The 2005 campaign had the Boise State Broncos vs. the Georgia Bulldogs; of course the first play into the game revealed that the season was going to be much different then the one before. Consider for a moment the leadership of Chris Carr, Andy Avalos, Gabe Franklin were gone and for the rest of the season it appeared that the Broncos had lost the little something. The season saw Jared Zabransky come back to earth and Coach Dan Hawkins at a loss for words. However, with all that went wrong in 2005, this years version has come a long way from the 2005’s MPC Bowl Game.
With the schools first appearance in a BCS Bowl it appears that the Broncos are firing on all cylinders and with the new leadership of Coach Chris Petersen the Broncos look to have found what they had lost in 2005. This years Broncos proved that they are the better team each and every game. They have the “killer” attitude that was so prevalent in 2004 and most of all they are taking the fight to their opponents.

Though Ian Johnson has had Heisman praise, there is little that is overly flashy about the 2006 BSU Broncos and that’s the way it should be. Consider for a moment the unselfish play of the Wide Receiving core, which has the responsibility of blocking first, rather then catching first. Jared Zabransky at times has the Jared moment, but overall he has limited his mistakes and has realized that he is part of a team. The offensive line that started the season as a “?” mark, has become the core of the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, aside from Korey Hall’s outstanding play, the unit is playing as one and has had one the better seasons in recent history.

So what can the National Media and the Oklahoma Sooners gain from the 2005 Georgia game? Nothing because if they make the mistake of thinking these Broncos are in over their heads and will crack on the National Spotlight then think again. Bronco pride is on the line, they are playing with a chip on their shoulder and most of all they are bigger, faster, and better then they have ever been before. Oklahoma look out here come the BCS Boise State Broncos!!!
